Modern Suiseki

About shape

In Suiseki, shape of stone is considered to be the most important factor.

For me, quality of stone is more important but it is minority.

Actually, from the shape, Suiseki is classified as Toyama-ishi, Shimagata-ishi, Iwagata-ishi, Tamari-ishi, Taki-ishi, Doha, Dan-seki, Sugata-ishi, or Kazuya-ishi. And it is true that each Suiseki has its own attractive feature.

However, for me, since there are very good Suiseki although they are not classified in the shape classification, it is not good to stick to only shape.

Ruther, I would like to recommend to feel impression of Suiseki more.

I believe that Suiseki is to feel, not only to see.
